Software Developer Email Signature Templates

Engineers and founders tend to want a signature that gets out of the way and survives dark mode, plain-text clients and code review threads. These are text-first, with contact glyphs instead of labels.

What to include

  • Name, role and company — often that's enough.
  • Contact glyphs instead of text labels; they stay neutral gray in dark mode.
  • A product or changelog link for customer-facing roles.
  • A portrait for founders and customer-facing staff; skip it for on-call rotations.

What works for tech & software

  • 1

Skip the photo unless you're customer-facing; a rounded portrait suits founders, not on-call rotations.

  • 2

Glyph-led contact rows read well in dark mode because the icons are neutral gray, not brand-colored.

  • 3

The compact version is right for internal threads; keep the fuller one for candidates and customers.

Common questions

Will these render in plain-text mail clients?
The HTML version is what most recipients see. Clients that request plain text receive a text fallback with the same details, one per line — the generator produces both when you copy.
How do we keep signatures consistent as the team grows?
Apply one design across Google Workspace. New hires get the company signature the moment their account exists, with their own name and title from the directory.

Every template here is free to customize in the signature generator and install yourself. If your company runs on Google Workspace, the same design can be applied to every employee from the admin side — see how team management works.
