How to add your signature to Gmail
Gmail keeps the formatting when you paste, so this takes about a minute on desktop.

Copy your signature with the button above.

In Gmail, click the gear icon, then See all settings. Stay on the General tab.

Scroll to Signature and click Create new, or select an existing signature to replace.

Paste into the box, set it as the default for new emails and replies, then click Save Changes at the bottom.
A signature saved on desktop shows in the Gmail app too, as long as the app's own Mobile Signature setting is left off.

The settings and quirks that decide whether a Gmail signature actually shows up the way you built it.
Set it as the default for replies too
Gmail has separate defaults for new emails and for replies and forwards. Pick your signature in both dropdowns under Signature defaults, or long threads will go out unsigned.
Leave the mobile app's signature off
The Gmail app on iOS and Android uses the signature you saved on the web — unless the app's own Mobile Signature setting is on, which replaces it with plain text. Keep that setting off.
Images need to be hosted
Gmail's signature editor won't keep an image you paste from your desktop. It keeps images that live at a web address, which is why the generator hosts your logo and photo for you.
Stay under Gmail's limit
Gmail caps a signature at 10,000 characters. Every layout here fits comfortably — the compact one stays well under a quarter of that — so long disclaimers are the only thing to watch.
One signature per address
If you send from several addresses in the same Gmail account, each can have its own signature. Create one per address and choose it under the address in Signature defaults.

Questions about Gmail signatures
Is the Gmail signature generator free?
Yes. Design the signature, copy it and paste it into Gmail's settings — no account, no extension, nothing to pay. MailSignatures Solo is the paid option for people who'd rather have it installed in Gmail automatically and kept up to date.
Why isn't my signature showing up in Gmail?
Check that you clicked Save Changes at the bottom of Gmail's settings page, and that the signature is selected under Signature defaults for both new emails and replies. If you pasted into a different signature slot, Gmail keeps using the old one.
Will it show in the Gmail mobile app?
Yes. A signature saved in Gmail on desktop is used by the Gmail app on iOS and Android, as long as the app's separate Mobile Signature setting is left off. Turning that on replaces it with plain text.
Can I add an image or logo to my Gmail signature?
Yes. Gmail keeps images that are hosted at a web address, and the generator hosts your logo, photo or banner for you when you upload it. Pasting an image file from your computer into Gmail's signature box doesn't work reliably, which is the most common reason logos go missing.
Can I have more than one Gmail signature?
Yes. Gmail lets you create several signatures and choose one per sending address, plus separate defaults for new messages and replies. Many people keep a full version for first contact and a compact one for replies — both are layouts here.
What's the difference between pasting it and Solo?
Pasting is free and manual: you install it in Gmail's settings yourself and update it yourself when something changes. Do you store the details I type in?
Your name, title, email and phone number stay in your browser — they aren't sent to a server or saved to an account. The only things uploaded are images you choose to add, because an email signature can only show an image that's hosted at a web address. Uploads are resized, stripped of camera metadata, and hosted at a random, unguessable address.
Can I use this to create signatures for my whole team?
The free generator makes one signature for one person.
